Default LS3 generator 3-wire question

As this motor is out of a C6, figured this would be the best place to ask this.
Here's, what is probably, a stupid question. I'm reworking a 2008 Corvette LS3 harness for install in a 1968 C3.
I have a red/white wire from pin D on the generator (alternator) plug going back toward the ECU. It does not have a place to go on the ECU. I'm guessing I need to route it to a 12 V+ batt hot supply.
Then it dawned on me, does this connection NEED voltage, or does it SUPPLY voltage.
I'm at a loss to where this wire goes.

The red/white wire on pin D does not go to the ECU. It needs to have a 15A fused 12 volt supply that is hot at all times (even if key is off) connected to it. That line is not the charging line, though. It is used to supply power to the solid state regulator inside the generator. Battery charging is handled through the BATT connection on the generator. This is all shown on the attached pdf, which is for a 2007 Corvette, but most likely the same as your 2008.
