Bad lifter..cam lob
So after my z06 developed a ticking/tapping noise I took off the intake manifold/valley cover & noticed the cam lob has some wear.
Does this look okay or cam needs to be replaced? It feels smooth/even.

That is a bad cam lobe in your second picture. Definitely time for a new cam, lifters, etc.
Looks like the damage is just starting on that lobe so you may have caught it early enough that is hasn’t sent much or any metal through the engine.
What cam and lifters are you currently using and how many miles on the setup?
