Help ! My son recently purchased a 2012 Z06 and is now having electrical gremlins. Put a new battery in and the alarm goes off and the doors won't unlock. Could it now be his keyfob ?? any ideas ? prior to the new battery had weird things like getting in, try to start but dead, then the doors wouldn't open had to climb out hatch, left it alone for 10 minutes then the doors did open and it started ? That's why the new battery.
First off, there is a manual lever on the floor right next to the seat for opening the door when the electrical button for opening the door doesn't work. Both the driver's seat and passenger's seat have a lever. It is explained in the owner's manual. Your son should read it thoroughly.
Check your battery connections. Also check cables going to starter. The grounds need to be tight with good connection. It's the simple stuff that we often overlook.
Check the battery cable stud on the starter. The stud can come lose inside the solenoid and cause intermittent problems with the car's electrical system. Its not always easy to see. You need to lay hands on it to feel it. I have some pics of a failed one I will post if I can find them.

This stud is hard to see from the top or bottom with headers. (It was for me anyway)
