Default Need Help finding Grounding Location for Head Unit

Just installed an Alpine ILX-W650 with a PAC harness and everything is working EXCEPT, I'm getting some low volume noise and alternator whining. I need to find a better grounding location as the one attaxhed to the factory harness is not enough.

I found this diagram of the grounding location #3, supposed to be near or behind the driver's seat. I can't seem to locate it! Before I continue tearing apart my car to find the location, can anyone give me advice? I have a 2010 Grand Sport Coupe.

Here is the diagram I'm referring to and the picture I have of a previous location located near where the seat belt connects to the body.

Please help as I'm dying to get back on the road again !

If it's anything like the passenger side, it's further down closer to the base of the pillar, not the top. You have to pull off that plastic piece attached by your seat belt.

There is also a good grounding point near the fuse box you can use. It's not a factory ground, but it's a bolt connected to metal that is grounded.

See page 6 of the "NPP in a box" instructions for the ground location:

Just about any metal surface connected to the frame will be a ground.

Default Problem solved!

Thank you to everyone who chimed in! I was able to find the location behind the driver's seat, under the carpet!

System is sounding great now! Saved about $400 if I had the system installed at an audio shop. Wish I could buy y'all a beer lol cheers 🍺

this, just make sure you remove any paint or coating. Metal must be bare to make a proper connection.
