My drivers side window doesn't seem to go up the last 1/2 inch or so compared to the passenger. There is a noticeable gap and water gets in. It is indexed and the window does go down when door opened, and then back up. It does go back up high enough that it tucks inside the coupe top - but just barely. I also reindexed with the top off Incase that was interfering. The car is new to me so who knows what's going on inside the door. Any suggestions when I open up the door panel? I did check all the weather seals and made sure there wasn't anything lodged in there. I also used some grease inside the seals to help it slide up, and even helped pull while the window was going up but can't get it to go the last half inch. Shows the gap
Again, it does go up and down, it does index, but it needs to go up another 1/2 inch or so.
The only suggestion I can come up with is roll the windows down completely, disconnect the negative battery cable for 20 minutes, reconnect the battery, and reindex the windows.
If the window was ever replaced, maybe they didn't do an alignment properly. I am not sure, but maybe the window can be adjusted up with the door panel removed. I have had my panels off several times but never really looked. I would imagine there has to be something in there to raise it higher or lower.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe on a linkage or something I can go to a higher setting.

I'll give that a shot. I'll lube up the weather seals and disconnect for a bit and try again.

Did so, same thing. Goes up only barely into the top seal. Time to take the door panel off!
So I rolled the window up all the way and took off the door panel and shut myself inside. I loosened the tiny bolts for the little stops on both window brackets and pushed the window up by hand, it went in at least 1/2" all around. I then adjusted the stops so they bottomed out on the little bracket. Let myself out, closed the door and gap is gone. Put the door back together and all good.
So, when the window - which is certainly a replacement as the speaker was missing a bolt and some other things showing it has been messed with before, they didn't adjust it properly to allow it to go to full height. Fixed now :-)
