Remove Seat Studs - base model
I have the planted seat mounts and shaved Corbeau A4 seats. I am also 6'2" with a long torso. With a helmet I am _really_ close to coming in contact with the class roof with a helmet on. So I would like to remove the slider and bolt the seat directly to the mount for extra clearance. However, the seat mounted this way will cover the rear mounting bolts to the floor. So I would like to remove the rear studs, weld nuts to the planted mount (planted said this was fine) and have new bolts from through the floor (possibly with a plate as well for extra rigidity).
My question: How to remove the seat studs in the floor? I found one post where (here) but that looks pretty gnarly. Is that the only way to get them out? Maybe attempting to grind the round heads off from the bottom?

One idea I had was getting a fine tooth hole saw just big enough to go around the head of the stud, so its cleaner then the approach I linked. Then using a plate like he did (or a washer) and sealing.

I cut the stud off as close to the floor as possible then drill through it from the bottom. You could also put a socket over the bottom of the stud, support it with a floor jack, and beat the stud downward into the socket, but this will not give you a nice opening due to how the studs are secured to the crossmember.
