I think I have a start soleniod issue. When go to start my car, the starter will engage for a second and stop. Then the dash lights start to dim like the battery is draining, but then dash lights back up like normal (like the car thinks its running but it is not). Then it gets real weird. The car wont start or shut off. I have to disconnect the battery and reconnect it and then the car will start. No codes are thrown. I did some research and I seen soleniod issues, FOB issues, crank posistion sensor issues and battery issues. I guessing its the soleniod because theres no codes and when I do the battery disconnect-reconnect thing its starts, but that doesnt make sense either. The car is 2008 E38ecm A6. Any thoughts???

After disconnecting the battery you should be able to reach down and grab the main lead going to the solenoid. If it wiggles (even a little) then yeah, it's shot. The good news is they're available on Amazon so you won't need to buy a whole new starter.
