Hi everybody I’m new to this forum, I am looking at buying this camshaft but not sure if it fits my 2012 c6 grand sport. Any opinions and advices would be appreciated. Thank you Would like to know if this camshaft would fit my N/A 2012 grandsport. Thanks!
Will it fit? Yes, that’s the correct cam for your car…. But to know if it’s the cam you should get then I would suggest calling Texas Speed and talking to them about your goals. Wouldn’t hurt to make a more detailed post on here about what you’re looking for out of your setup to see if it’s right for you. As mentioned, if you’re an auto then you will need a converter but if you’re a manual you’re good to go. Their stage 2 and stage 3 cams are very popular.
Just saw it on marketplace it was pretty cheap so thought it would be worth looking into maybe I found myself a deal
If you don’t know exactly what you’re buying or don’t know much about cams in general I would strongly suggest reaching out to a reputable company (Texas speed, BTR, Tick Performance etc) and talking to them before buying a random cheap cam on marketplace.
I wouldn't buy a used cam period unless you know the seller and the history of it personally... just too hard to know for sure what your getting. Even though you can't see any visible damage doesn't mean its there and cams are precision machined parts. That being said not sure what your goals are but that cam certainly will require an aftermarket stall and a set of valve springs. Not sure on the stage 2 supercharger cam but we used the stage 3 in my cousins car and its pretty radical. You'd be much better off to call TSP or BTR, tell them your goals, buy an entire kit new and go from there.
Another thing you need to be aware of is rather or not its a single bolt or 3 bolt cam, they can be ordered both ways, Most people convert to a 3 bolt but youll have to buy the appropriate timing sprocket to do so. Your car currently has the newer (not better) 1 bolt design.
