Default Help identifying this part, can it be fixed?

Hi, the engine out of my C6Z is out right now as we prepare to put a new motor in.

While it was out, I noticed that there is a hole in some of the fiberglass near the driver's side.

1) Does anyone know the part number? I know it's related to the driver's side fender liner, perhaps inner wheel housing, but I need to be sure.

2) It looks like something that can be patched up with some fiberglass fairly easily; am I correct?

Are you talking about where the coolant reservoir bolt was? Looks like it pulled out maybe? You can glass a new stud in, you don’t see it with the reservoir in place

Yes that's the spot. Glad to hear it's a fairly simple fix.

Now I just wonder how it happened in the first place.

You more than likely broke it when you removed the coolant reservoir

I would also check the skid plate/radiator support to make sure it hasn't broken loose from its mounting bolts. It's a very common problem on the C6. It can cause a lot of movement when it does.

That was it! Shortly before the rebuild, the front of my car was dropped onto a rumble strip when I went off-track, which is partially why I'm here with the motor out.

I checked the radiator support and it needs to be replaced... good looking out.
