Default Transmission service.

When you take the pan off and replace the filter then add 7 quarts should you drive the car to make sure the air has been purged or can it be done while on the lift, I have read about bringing the temp up to 100 then pulling the plug to set the level but want to be sure on the run time.

There is lots of good info to be found especially here on the transmissiin service. I should of asked instead for opinions on adding what has been recommended to fill up to a quart extra then warm up to temp then drain out the excess while running. The track guys say to put a extra quart in to help with launching.
I just thought it would be a good idea to go drive it if nothing else to mix well with the old oil left to get some more crud out when i drain the excess.
Since i have drained the coolant out and refilled with distilled water to get a flush i thought it would be a good time for a short drive then drain them both.
