Default Plug wire removal

Picked up a nice 2005 vert with 55K miles. Car runs fine but because of the miles guessing the previous owners never changed the plugs. Went to pull a couple wires to see what the look like but can't pull the boots off the plugs. Is there a trick /tool that anyone can share to getting these off. I've got some bad carpal tunnel so hand strength is not what it used to be. Don't want to ruin the wires by pulling on them

Are red wires stock on a LS2?

Thanks!!

I use the method shown in this video, except instead of using a large screwdriver, I use a regular full-size carpenter's crowbar. It provides way more leverage than you need, but it makes the job very easy and does not slip off the spark plug shield like that large screwdriver does.

Get yourself a Spark Plug Boot Remover/Puller tool. Works great. I like the ones with the slightly angled vice head. Really helps in removing & reinstalling the boots. Buy online or at any major auto parts store.

Most often, I just give the boot a turn at the very end of the rubber...

I just changed all my plugs and wires yesterday morning, 2012 GS 26k odometer. They were all original factory units. Twist and turn the plug boot and the coil connector boot before pulling. For the coil boot connector, i used a thin steak knife and gently inserted the tip inside the coil connector boot and gently circled the knife around the inside of boot to GENTLY break it loose from the coil tube/shaft. The plastic of the oil boot tube/shafts that the boot slides onto that have been on a long time and/or did not have any dielectric grease used become brittle and tend to break off a small piece of the boot connector shaft if not loosened up before pulling on.

If they are hard to get off, they aren’t worth putting back on. Do plugs AND wires.

I agree what Farmington says, I've changed many plugs before and for every plug I've changed, a new wire went on that plug. Why go through all the effort ( very little really ) just to save a few bucks on using an old wire! New plugs means new wires too! Saves time too because I could care less if I damage the old wire getting it off! That's my 2 cents worth...

I'm just starting to go through my 94 Vert that I purchased a month ago. Finally got the license plates in the mail yesterday. Will be changing the oil and doing a step by step change on the transmission fluid because I'm not sure when it was last changed and then the filter and all new fluid. Have already replaced the 15 year old Goodyear Eagles. Questions: 1. What spark plugs and wires do most of you use? . .2. Do you run synthetic transmission fluid. 3. Have you installed LED headlights and if so what brand. Thanks in advance for the information.
