Default QC alarm question

Happy to be a corvette owner again it's been since 2005. There is an extra remote with the car and a black box mounted on the inside of the windshield. Unfortunately the dealer wasn't much help with identifying it. The only writing on it is QC. It could be an alarm but I can't find any info about it on the web. Any advise would be appreciated,
thanks Dave

Travlee,
Thanks for the explanation. I just went out and tried it and you're correct it's the exhaust flaps. Makes sense that the black box is for XM. Appreciate the help !!
