I have a clone tech 2 that I bought from a forum member a few years ago. He replaced the 32 mb card and it worked fine. I used it to bleed my brakes.
a few years later now and I go to use it and it says the Candi module isn’t connected. Can’t seem to get it to work so I assume it’s bad and order a new one. I end up not needing to use it so it sat for another year until this week.
new Candi module, same issue. Green light slowly blinks on the Candi.
if it turns on, scrolls through menus, etc but just can’t connect to the Candi, could it still be the dc-dc converter?
also, would the fact that my key now only works when I put it in the glovebox slot (I’ve tried two brand new batteries with no change - the lock unlock function doesn’t even work) indicate that the malfunctioning tech2 has messed something up??

anyone have any ideas???
A bad VCI module will do that. Go to the self-test menu to run diagnostics.
