Just tried out my Dashlogic/dashcontrol for the first time today on my z06. Oil temp showed roughly 50F (198 vs 149) lower than what the DIC shows. Even though I was expecting dissimilar readings I wasn't expecting it to be THAT different. I've heard of dashcontrol reading slightly high, but not 50 degrees colder. Pretty neat device though. Anyone care to chime in?
Not exactly the same, but I have my Dashlogic set to "beep" when the oil temp hits 150, but when it does the DIC reads 129. I have not heard of the disparity before between the two readings.

I'd like to do the same, but haven't found a rhyme or reason to the dashlogic readings. I added an oil cooler cover - I'm not sure if that made a difference considering the DashLogic reading is calculated vs a direct reading. Just think it's weird that it is this extreme in my case. Ambient temp was in the mid 40s

That cover really works, I can't get my oil temp over ~180 when it is below 50 ambient.

Night and day difference with the cover! Added a preheater as well, but I haven't used it yet. I just don't understand why everybody elses DashLogic reading is higher than the DIC...
Off topic but I didn't even know oil cooler covers existed. It's hard to get my GS up to temp in the winter, think I'll be buying one. Are there any other options besides this one? https://www.unbalancedengineering.com/Corvette/

I bought mine from them. To my knowledge, that is the only option available. You could always make your own though.
