A friend has a 2013 C6 convert. The top is not closing and Chevy has replaced a few parts. They now claim the BCM is bad. They said it opened a few times and closed - then stopped working. The top can be closed by hand . Chevy says it is not available. ? I have older Corvettes so I don't know who does the "newer stuff".
I remember reading about a service that repaired the BCM - does it exist and is it still available. Or is the best idea to find a used one. He is not doing well so I would like to help him.
Thanks in advance
I’d tell your friend to take his car to an auto electric or diagnostic shop…dealerships unfortunately are clueless when it comes to diagnosing…they just replace parts hoping they fix it !!…I would not condemn the BCM just yet.
The C6 Corvette BCMs from 2008 to 2013 are all the same. The Cadillac XLR from 2008 and 2009 should work as well. Here is a list of GM part numbers for them.

Once a VIN number is programmed into a BCM it’s there permanently and cannot be changed. There are a few services that can swap the chip that contains the VIN and programmed options over to a used BCM. You purchase a used BCM and send that along with the original BCM to them and they open both cases and unsolder the chip on the original BCM and resolder it to the used BCM.
There is currently one guy on EBay that offers this service.. Search…Corvette C6 BCM programming. His fee is $85. There are a couple of videos on YouTube that show the process if you are an electronics hobbyist.
I realize this post is a little older but came across it looking for information on something else. You may or may not be aware of this but there is a separate control module for the top, its behind the waterfall in the trunk underneath the carpet
