So on my first Z06 I lowered the car as far as I could on stock bolts , mainly because I heard all the horror stories from everyone using after market bolts.however I never even measured the ride height. Now I’m on my 2nd Z06 and lowered it today. Once I got under there I realized the rubber pads are trashed. I measured all the corners and the tears were even at 27 1/8 , the fronts were also even at 27.
rear bolts spun like normal till they got tight again,(counter clockwise) , passenger front was the worst of them all and never stopped spinning. Figured I wasn’t doing much there .. the driver side front seemed normal . So after getting the car back down on its wheels and taking it for a drive the only bolt that did anything was the driver front. All the other once did not even move the car.
I wanna replace the stock bolts with OEM bolts and lower it again. I want it to be 26.5 up front and 27 in the rear. Has anyone done that with stock bolts .. please leave a picture.
As you may already know, stock spring bolts are only available with an entirely new leaf spring assembly. If you're looking for bolts similar in height to stock, these are the only ones I've seen (link below); only other option is aftermarket lowering bolts which based on reports don't always last. Good luck
so if you already lowered the 3 good ones as far as they will go, plus they are crushed/distorted, new bolts won't make it go lower. Plus it sounds like the 4th adjuster is either stripped in the threads, or some other damage has happened.
The corner balance of your car is dependent on all 4 springs....if one is stuck our mis-adjusted, it will still hold other corners up. IE you can keep removing pre-load from a high corner, but it won't necessarily drop if the other corners are still giving it some support.. You really need to do this on scales with the bars disconnected.
You can find good used spring bolts around, I think I have a few sets from race car conversions. I've never used the aftermarket bolts, but seems like a good Delrin slider-bolt would be worth making.

yea I hear ya, I think I’m going to ditch the bolts and go with coil overs.
