I'm in the process of changing out the AC compressor. To mitigate moisture from entering the system I want to cap the lines as soon as the lines are off the condenser.
Anyone have a source on condenser line caps for the C6 condenser?
You can just jam something soft in the opening (I used a tapered cone type plug), but whether you do or don't, the system will have to be vacuumed anyway before its refilled.

Yeah I want to mitigate moisture from entering the system, until I can get the car put back together and taken to a repair facility with a competent AC technician that can service the AC. My fear is that onece I loosen the bolts to the two above fittings and open the system I'm opening myself up to larger more expensive problem down the road (Bad Compressor) I have a brand new condenser from Rock Auto that I want to sandwich between my new A&A intercooler and DeWitts Radiator. Now seems the best time to do this while everything is out of the car.
That is the best time to do it, but you could bag the ends with zip ties to keep stuff out, like the other Gentelman said once you get it to the AC tech, they will apply vacuum to the system then flush it with nitrogen and then fill it with Freon and the oil that goes in there, don’t forget a new dryer canister, I think our cars have one?

Excellent Idea Sir! I beleive the GM OEM Replacement condenser I purchased states that it had the dryer incorporated into the condenser unit.
