Default Breakout IAT sensor or not bother for meth setup

I recently bought a 2006 that is stroked, cammed (torquerv2), and stalled. I have been working on fixing the minor problems it has and getting it ready for the summer. Just installed fresh 200TW tires, front and rear z51 sways and all new tie rods with a fresh alignment, harmonic balancer pinned for s/c down the road as well as new belts and water pump. new starter, added heavy gauge "Big 3" wires and bought a battery tender. I also installed a MSD atomic intake manifold and ported my stock throttle body. The bottom end is an eagle crank and JE pistons, but unfortunately, I don't have the specs on the pistons. the CC receipts that came with the car are 15k+. The car was built by ETMC and tuned by 21stCMC around 2015. it was tuned on 93 and at sea level and I can only get 91oct and am at 5000ft elevation now.

Should I bother getting the tune touched up now for altitude? I just added a AEM wideband today to get ready for tuning. idle is perfect at 14.7-14.9 but part throttle and cruising is pretty lean and all over the place. WOT seems fine.

I am planning on adding AFR heads soon since i have a vararam, a ported TB, and a built bottom end, it seems logical to upgrade the heads and get this thing to breathe correctly. Headers are LG motorsports I believe they are 1-3/4 with high flow cats. The AEM O2 sensor was a **** hair too long to fit in the bung i had welded on right after the merge collector. so one bank has the OEM narrowband in the stock location and the other bank has the wideband in that location and the narrow band like an inch away from it. I know widebands should be after the x-pipe so they read both banks but there wasn't really a convenient way to make that happen and it should still be ok for tuning right??

My main question is i have a devilsown water/meth setup leftover from my last car. Should I bother using it on this n/a setup? Not for more power, but to cool things down and pull less timing in the 100* summer heat. I was thinking just a little m5 nozzle setup up on the coupler just downstream of the MAF and before the TB. I see some people breakout the IAT sensor from the MAF so it reads the cooler meth air but there isn't hardly any room unless i am basically spraying right on it.
Should I just spray a little and not worry about moving the IAT? Or is there a way to install the IAT in the intake manifold and would this be a good idea?

thanks for any advice you guys have for me. this is my first corvette but i have built several fun cars and i am excited to learn all i can about this platform

So, I'm one of the folks that broke my IAT out of the MAF. I put my IAT in the intake manifold behind the throttle body and in the air stream. My methanol nozzles are before the throttle body and after the MAF. The reason I did this is because in boost, I wanted to read IAT of the meth cooled air. Id recommend doing this so you have a true IAT reading, it'll help prevent pulling timing in the heat. If you leave the IAT sensor with the MAF, it will never read that nice meth cooled air.

Many people run methanol injection on N/A builds for the exact reason you are wanting to, and for how cheap the systems are, its good insurance.

Thanks for confirming my plan to go meth. I will order the breakout cable and a new sensor. Where do you think I should place it? Just drill and tap a hole near the front of the IM before the runners start and seal it real good with Epoxy?

I'm reluctant to give a recommendation on where to put the sensor. I drilled and tapped mine right on top behind the throttle body, but you also don't want the sensor to get "wet" either, as that may give a falsely cool IAT reading. I threaded mine in and sealed it with Loctite.

edit: My car is an LS3 car, so there may not be the same space on other manifolds. What manifold are you running? if its aftermarket, there may already be provisions to add an IAT sensor.

It's a MSD atomic 102. I will take a good look at it today and see if i can find a good spot. it came with 3 separate pre-drilled holes for MAP sensors, do you think one of these would work? IAT doesn't necessarily have to be close to the TB right? I should be able to use the one near the rear of the manifold maybe.

The thread for the IAT sensor is M18x1.50 if i remember correctly. It does not need to be close to the TB, but I'd recommend its somewhat in the air stream so you get a quicker reading response. Pulls only last a few seconds in the first place, you wouldn't want it to take a second for the sensor to respond. Many guys put them in the bottom front left side of the LS3 intake down by where the valley cover vent line hooks into.
