Maintaining Trans Temp During Test and Tune
I have the typical notchy-when-cold 2nd gear but only on upshifts. It's perfectly fine when up to temp.
The drive there is an hour so I'll be up to temp when I get there, but it's an all-day event and I don't know when I'll be able to run. I don't want to risk damaging anything trying to shift to second at 6000+ rpm on a cold transmission.
If I idle the car before I go to the staging lanes, will the heated coolant flowing through the radiator be enough to warm up the trans?
Any other suggestions?

Thinking about it more, I should add one to the oil lines as well. With the front mounted oil cooler, it takes a long time to get up to temp in the colder months. So much so that I've thought about ordering a cover they sell to put over the cooler in the winter.
Idling in the lot and staging lanes was enough to get my temps up and I didn't have issues with the 1->2 shift.
This was my first time ever on a drag strip and I'm happy with my 13.132 at 110.63. I weighed the car and it was 3580 with me in it and half a tank of gas. I didn't pull anything out, so that's with roadside tools in the cubby, a subwoofer, a blanket, a few jackets, etc. with me. Only got 2 runs in and the first was a 13.484 at 107.15. Not the greatest but I am not mad about it since it was my first time. I will definitely be back.
I did a casual 2000rpm rollout and my 60ft on the second pass was 2.357, so there's obviously tons to improve on there. I was slightly worried about breaking an axle with the 3500rpm launch control.
