Not a super technical question, but just picked up my C6 this year and the passenger mirror has a single crack vertically through the glass. Not too noticeable, but I went ahead and ordered replacement glass. The replacement came with no instructions, Googled around and found some talk of just putting the NEW glass on top of the old glass. In my SUV when I replaced the glass I actually popped the glass housing out of the mirror and then took the old glass out and installed new glass. Didn't want to damage the mirror trying that so figured I'd ask here. I feel like putting the new glass on the old should be fine, but obviously want to do it "right".
I know when I bought Panoramic Mirror for my drivers side, the instruction came with double sided tape to install it over the existing mirror, it's no done in 2020, still there, guess you might do the same.
This for your left side, love the wide vision, no more blinds spots.
