Default C6 Corvette Service Charging system

I have a 2008 corvette base model. At first it wasn’t starting due to the starter, changed that out and everything was fine. Eventually the battery needed to be changed, changed that out and the car was starting just fine once again. Now, when I go to start the car it will make a clicking noise and not start. It would randomly start at lucky moments and when it did, I noticed the battery voltage was low & was given the “service charging system” message, after doing some research it seemed to be the alternator, changed that out & i’m still having the same problem. Any ideas on what to do next from here? Once again, when I go to start the car it will click but not start. It will randomly start if I get lucky. Thanks for anyone whos willing to help troubleshoot this.

Recheck all your connections and grounds.
A voltage meter and a voltage drop test are your friends there.
Good luck, let us know what you find!

First thing is to see if your battery is fully charged at 12.66 volts at the battery…wait overnight and see how much the voltage drops from 12.66…if you know how to do a parasitic draw test I would check that…if you get the car started with your voltmeter connect one lead to battery positive and the other lead to the B+ cable on the alternator…do the same between the case of the alternator and battery negative while electrically loading the system with headlight, blower motor etc.at 2000 RPM…I’m assuming you have a volt meter.

nope don’t even have a volt meter! Going to go purchase one now along with sand paper to make sure all my grounds are clean. Where would I get started with the volt meter? Pardon my ignorance.

Just check what I said above…you don’t have to make sure ALL the grounds are clean…you just want to check the ones that are involved in the circuit you are checking…why check a ground for your headlights ??…if you don’t know how to use a DVOM there are many YouTube videos you can watch.
