Hello Everyone: I just purchased a pre-owned 2011 C6 Grand Sport convertible. I need some help with the electric top.
It is not functioning properly. Now the trunk will not unlock with the remote, the dash-mounted switch, or the rubber button just above the rear license plate. Have to use the key.
Keep getting a coded message that says the tonneau cover is not secure. Are all of these issues linked together?

Even though the car doesn't have magnetic ride control, it is a blast to drive. I am hoping to improve the harsh ride with a set of Koni shock replacements soon.

Would really appreciate your input about these items.

Thank you,
Terrible Tell

This could be an easy fix.

Have you disconnected the battery lately?

If so, much like you have to index the windows after a battery disconnect you also have to cycle the power top.

This is because the trunk will not open if the tonneau cover is open (at least the car thinks that the tonneau cover is open).

Close the top, index the windows. Then open and close the top. It is the tonneau cover that needs to reset.

The trunk power open should work again.

DRM C6 valved Bilstein shocks are a great replacement shock. They are less expensive than the Koni's. Check them out but the ride harshness is not in the shocks.

The C6 GS has stiffer springs and larger sway bars. The sway bars come into affect only when turning.

First of all WELCOME to the Forum I just purchased 2012 GS coupe white/black A6 as well.
Tons of good guys & advice here
Tires have a lot to do with the ride check the tire pressure 30 psi then check the date codes on the back side of tires these cars sit around a bunch my suggestion is NOT to run Corvette tires over 5 years, heat & time are hard on tires.
Good luck
Chuck
