I was wanting to know if a C6 requiring a crankshaft relearn would display a check engine light. I spoke to the service department at the local Chevrolet dealership, and the guy seem to think that those were two different things. He gave me a fluff explanation over the phone, which still led me to believe in theory that it would throw a check engine light.
He doesn’t seem to think so. Says it’s another issue. I think he’s full of it.
What say you guys?
The MIL will be illuminated and you will see a P0315….info from Service Information below…the Service Department at the dealership are a bunch of idiots…I still find it hard to believe Forum members actually take their Corvettes to dealerships.

Ah, so it will throw a check engine light then. I thought that guy didn’t know his *** from a hole in the ground.
And no, I don’t take my car to these guys.
It’s not even my car either. I saw one on craigslist for sale real cheap with that problem. I just called to see what they had to say about it.
I learned my lesson going to dealerships already. Never again.
Thank you for your answer. 👍

Yes, it is a “Type A” DTC so the MIL will illuminate after 1 drive cycle.
