Has C6 realy bad electrical solution or not?
I need little help from experienced owners.
Im still having problems with my 05 LS2 C6
Sometimes some error about traction error shows on board computer.
Sometimes I had 1/2 of fuel on gauges and after few moments hand in gauge is totally on left side and board computer write me to "check fuel gauges"
Sometimes I cant access board computer to check some information on it. I can press anything but It wont work.
Sometimes lights in cab turn on and I cant turn them off..
And maybe some others which I rather forgot.
Issue is gone after I turn car off for a while and start it again (only fuell is still misiing
)I dont like it but people say "This is normal for C6 Vette" but this car is rare here so I like check it out if problem is in all cars or just in my car.
Thank you for answers
Most c6's are very reliable.
#1 first thing to check is that your battery and charging system are in good condition.
MANY electrical problems (some very weird) can be traced back to a marginal battery or low output alternator. Just because a battery will start your car does not mean it is in good shape.
Bohemian/Czech heritage here. I had a trip scheduled there just when covid started and everything shut down. Hoping to get there soon. Any problems there with the war going on in Ukraine?
As for battery, the modules in the car need to get at least 12 Volts, and if the battery is about toasted, then when you go to start the car, voltage of the battery drops down below this, and modules in the car will low volt glitch. To solve this problem, disconnect the battery to put it on a charger, touch the battery cables together away from the battery to drain all the voltage out of the modules, and when the battery is charged/load tested to make sure it still good, then reconnect the battery, and this just re-hard set all the modules. As for car, should be able to withstand about a week of not driving the car and the battery not getting drained, while if you are not going to drive the car for about 4 days or more, put the car on a battery tender. If battery is being drained down in a day or two, then have a parasitic battery draw problem, with one of the modules not going into sleep mode when you shut the motor off, and will need to find that problems.
As for is car is flood damage, then will need to go through every connector on the car to check for corrosion problems, hence spray electrical cleaner to clean up that mess. That will not solve the total problem, since its the wires themselves that got water in them under the shieldings, and this can cause corrosion problem in the wiring not only under their shieldings, but to the wires to actual pin crimp joints as well. Worse yet, water in the modules, that can cause corrosion problems with them as well (read back to the parasitic battery draw problem of why a module may not be going to sleep.
So start with pulling the battery to have it fully charge and load tested to see if its still good, do the cable touch together before you reinstall the battery, and see if this does solve the problems/don't have a parasitic battery draw problem that is causing the battery to be quickly drained in a matter of a day or two to begin with, and just low voltage glitching the modules when you go to start the motor again with a low battery.

But thank you both for opinion.
