should I A: replace with stock
B: leave and install CAI
C: ?
car seems to run ok, but I have nothing to compare to "first vette"
Thanks
Start by data logging the Maf in the first place to see how well the maf is liner flowing with the new intake system, to know if you will need to go into the tune to clean up it's reading to start with. The fact that its in play, someone had to tune the car for it to begin with, and if did not, then that is a problem in itself.
Maybe, but cheap elm327 running free scanmaster could be used to data log the Maf in the first place to get an idea of its reading linear in the first place. Hence watch the MAF flow readings from idle, to about half throttle, and make sure that the readings are staying linear increases with the increase throttle levels.
As for from there, just depends how the car is running (which you could data log yourself with scanmaster as well), and if the tune is adjusted for the after market MAF in the first place or not.it it needs to be adjusted now. Hence watch your AFR's, and with the car running closed loop at less than WOT, should be running about 14.7, and when at WOT since the car is running open loop/all tune, should be running about 13.5 during WOT.
