C6 Programming a new key with a half-working key?
Hello, I just recently got a 2005 C6 and it came with one key fob. INFORMATION about the key fob (It is a square key fob with a normal looking key attached to it on a key ring. It can only start the car when put inside the glovebox hole. The key inside the fob doesn't work in the trunk/isn't cut, but the standalone attached key does fit inside in trunk.) I've been looking at guides and videos on how to program a new fob, but the fob they already have is always working fully (ie not having to go in glovebox to start car). Am I able to program a new key using this half working one? If not what would be the best course of action, dealership? Locksmith?

- Does it matter if its the square key fob or the older looking round one?
- What reason would the current key fob not be working except in the glovebox? Does it need a new key battery?
