Hello, I just recently got a 2005 C6 and it came with one key fob. INFORMATION about the key fob (It is a square key fob with a normal looking key attached to it on a key ring. It can only start the car when put inside the glovebox hole. The key inside the fob doesn't work in the trunk/isn't cut, but the standalone attached key does fit inside in trunk.) I've been looking at guides and videos on how to program a new fob, but the fob they already have is always working fully (ie not having to go in glovebox to start car). Am I able to program a new key using this half working one? If not what would be the best course of action, dealership? Locksmith?
Other random questions:
Does it matter if its the square key fob or the older looking round one?
What reason would the current key fob not be working except in the glovebox? Does it need a new key battery?
My current key, that only can start the car inside glovebox.
