Can’t solve p0300 code
Beginning of the year I installed a BTR stage 3 cam on my base automatic 2005 vette. Few months ago I got a p0300 code and notice a strong gas smell every once in awhile. Car seems to run fine most of the time except when I’m going 45-60mph, 1500-2000 rpm. Car stumbles and once in awhile backfires. If I drop it to 3rd gear or get on the gas it goes away. not sure what to do from here
Things I’ve done to try and fix it
-new spark plugs and wire/ even swapped back to old one again
-new 02 sensors and harnesses
-new crank position sensor
-added fuel cleaner
-clean air filter
-clean MAF

Does your scan tool have the ability to read misfires to narrow down which cylinders ??…misfires are fuel, ignition, or mechanical so trying to figure out which one is the hard part….if long term fuel trims are elevated somewhere around 15% it may be injector related…you can try and perform a “clear flood crank” to determine if it may be mechanical…keep gas pedal to the floor as you attempt to start the car…the car will only crank but not start…listen for the way the engine sounds as it cranks…should sound steady and even as it cranks…may be quicker to find a diagnostic shop that has the right specialized equipment to diagnose this…maybe broken valve spring but here we only can guess.

Newish Stage 3 cam install, sometimes smells like gas, my bet is it needs a "good" tune. Misfires lead to excess gas, which can lead to destroyed catalytic converters. Get the issue sorted out sooner rather than later.
