On my 2006 base C6 (LS2) it looks like I have to replace the Harmonic Balancer. It's wobbling a lot and also making some noise during idle and low power.
Since I live in Germany going to Chevy for the job will cost me my left kidney. I found a shop that knows corvettes and will do the job if I get all the parts. They also suggested to replace the belts and tensioners that run off it while they're at it. I think that's a good idea since I know nothing all about the service history on my car before my ownership (I know, I know..) router login192.168.l.l.link/
I think I'll have to order everything from the states. Does anyone have a list of parts (and a good shop to buy them from) I'll need to get to replace the HB as well as the relevant parts on the front? What do you think about installing the ATI HB? I've read mixed reviews on whether to go for OEM or the aftermarket HB.
Yes, needs to be moved to C6, but surprisingly to me, it is 2023 and this HB is STILL an issue. This is GMs MO. They would rather replace parts than re-engineer...all the way up to when the warranty expires.
Do NOT use an OEM balancer or else you will be replacing it again in the future for the same reason. Everyone will recommend ATI, if you can afford it they are great but there are other great options available for less such as powerbond.

Yes, absolutely agree. I've replaced a few of these on C6s. My "goto" even over ATI, which is OK on a built motor but overkill on a street car, is Dayco/Powerbond. Haven't done one of these now in some time, but the Powerbond is a solid replacement and done once.
I dropped the front cradle, which seemed to be way way easier than removing the steering rack, If they really want to do that, then you would probably want to replace bother power steering lines.

These are all good parts. That HB will last the life of the car now. Same one I've used a number of times.
Also, the bolt is the GM one which is FAR better than the case hardened aftermarket one that is popular. This bolt is a torque yield so it is a one-time use, but still far better than the hardened one which has a tendency to vibrate loose.
