Default Hey guys

Hey everyone, Luke here and hello from Houston. I’m finally joining since you guys have helped with so many problems in the past. New here, had my c6 grand sport for awhile but it’s starting to have some wiring issues affecting a few areas of the car and I fortunately live near a corvette world but I do have questions about the small stuff that I’m sure they don’t wanna hear about haha like is it normal for my radios background colors to start switching from red to blue, is that indicating something, normal, or probably another wiring issue? Is rotten egg exhaust actually “normal”? I have a few more questions but I’ll ask them later, besides that great to finally be apart of this forum that has saved me from using the wrong battery, helped me turn off the auto-dim on my first day awhile ago and has helped me with the fob issues while I was at a gas station parking lot about to call AAA or walk to the nearest cvs thinking my fob died

Light switching color does not sound normal but I wasn’t aware they could even do that? Is your radio a factory radio? I’m guessing not in which case the problem is most likely just within the radio itself. Unless it is a setting that cycles through different colors?

rotten egg smell…. From the exhaust, it could be that your catalytic converters have gone bad. I’ve also had a car’s alternator start overcharging and cooked the battery and it was a similar smell. It was a m3 with the battery in the back, exiting on the right and I thought my cats took a dump. But I heard a noise and the battery was boiling. It is in the right rear corner, so the smell was coming from the same area as the exhaust.

oh, and welcome!

Thank you for the welcome! And yes, I was just as surprised and it is the stock radio but in mine (2012 GS 3LT) you can press on the radio and change the colors to red/green/blue/and I think a darker blue or red can’t really remember, I just found out about it and the reason it was changing back and forth is it was set to driver #1 & 2 on my key fobs. 1 was red and 2 was blue and i ride with both to avoid any random fob issues so it would go back and forth haha. As far as the rotten egg smell, I’ve had a good personal mechanic come by and basically check everything I’m too inexperienced to know if it’s fine or not he hooked up those newer computers and said everything seems fine and just drive for awhile since it’s been sitting, I put it on my lift and it looks pretty good for the age, only problem was minor corrosion and had to adjust an exhaust clamp so I’m praying the smell is either a dirty sensor or because the engine was wiped down a little too much to make it look newer and have a shiny gloss recently when it was given to me and it’s my car burning it off, or it’s “normal” like a few people I know and on here have said. Sorry for the long reply, thank you for the advice and welcome again!
