5. gear TR6060
Hello Guys,
i‘m Laurenz and i come from Frankfurt Germany. I have a chance to buy a corvette C6 LS3 with a 6 speed Manual, for a good price. But the C6 has an issue with the transmission. When i shift in 5. gear on low rpm‘s everything is fine . When the rpm‘s Are higher i can’t shift into 5. gear and the transmission scratches. Maybe it is just the synchronizer ring, than i can fix it. But if the 5. gear is damaged aswell i have a Problem. The 5. gear, for the TR6060 is not available in Germany. My question is, can you still order Parts for the TR6060 in the US? Otherwise if the gear is damaged i can’t fix the car. I would only buy it if the parts are available.

The gear and all other parts for the TR6060 are still readily available. There are sponsors of this site that can fill your needs for parts as well as many other sources if you do an internet search. The hardest part of the job is getting the transmission out of the car because you have to drop the whole driveline while the car is elevated, and the car needs to be elevated (probably on a hoist) until you get the transmission fixed and ready to put back in the car. Because of this, it is popular to get a rebuild transmission to swap with yours so the hoist is only occupied for a short time. That is a shame, though if all you need is one gear.

Thank you. I‘m already in contact with a Shop in Germany who can do the job with the transmission. He is a specialist for corvettes here in Germany. Maybe i‘m lucky and the 5. gear is fine and i just need to change the synchronizer-Ring. But i need to know where i can find a 5. gear, just in case i need to replace it aswell.

Ok, thank you Guys. I'm already in contact with a corvette specialist in germany, who can do the job for me. As i said, when i'm lucky, i only have to change the synchronizer ring of the 5th gear. But i will only buy the car if i can get the 5th gear aswell. Just for the case it's damaged too.
