I have a problem with all the needles on my speedometer. the car is not driven often. I no longer have the starting kinematics and the hands do not move. My battery is new and maintaining a charge. I stripped the 4 ground in the engine part. the two interior ground at the foot of the rocker panels. disconnect the three bcm sockets, it works again for 30 seconds when I start then the needles get stuck again. I have to remove the battery terminals and put them back to lower the needles.
How is your disassembly and board soldering skills.
If not, and don't live in say Denver for me to give you a hand repairing it, the may want to look into these guys to either repair it, or do a cluster swap isntead. https://issautomotive.com/products/2...er-replacement

Hello and thank you ! I am in France..if someone shows me what I need to check in the speedometer I can do it ✌️ professionals in France also do repairs on clusters but that seems strange to me.. Has anyone had the same situation as me here? THANKS !
Small clarification, even when it doesn't work for long I don't have instantaneous consumption.
I don't know if it's normal after disconnecting the battery or if it comes back on its own while driving, but in my opinion I should at least have the instantaneous consumption?
I cleaned the 4 masses of the engine then the 2 inside (G201/G202) I did not doG301/G302 because it seems impossible to me.
I would especially like to know which beam sends the information to the meter? Thank you friends !
Years back my speedometer needle stopped working, the problem was a faulty speed sensor located over the rear differential wasn't sending the info to the computer,
Since the VSS if working for the DIC, that is not the problem.
The problem is going to be in the cluster itself on the dail gauge side, sowould first try to clean the dash connectors to see if corrosion problem there, and best guess without seeing his board if not connectors, going to go with either cold solder joint on header pin, one of the ribbons cables loose, something else on the board where the dial gauges are not getting power.
Note, when cleaning the cluster connectors with battery disconnected, would clean the BCM and ECM connectors, since problem could be those connectors up line instead.
