Hello all,
I have a 2006 ls2 m6. I am planning on doing long tubes, an AA kit with 4.00 pulley and a BTR stage 2 v1 cam. So far I have the pushrods and springs that come in the cam kit, a melling 10295, the 1 to 3 bolt cam gear conversion with a new chain and the CHE trunion kit. Is there anything else I should consider before I throw it all together?
thanks, Ben
Fueling. Preferably flex fuel. Set it up that way from the get go.
I wanted to go in that direction, however there is almost no flex fuel available in my area. I have the racetronix booster from the AA kit, should that be sufficient?

If A&A included it with their kit, I would run it.
Add the Racetronix wiring harness to the boost-a-pump included with the A&A kit. My local shop is recommending to not get the injectors included with the A&A kit and go with FIC 660 injectors. More expensive but less issues... apparently. They also recommend getting the direct drive belt setup right off the bat if you think you'll ever go with a smaller pulley. Nip any belt slip issues in the bud. You're going to be close to the limit of the fuel pump and boost-a-pump combo with a cam/headers/A&A kit.
Man, yall be careful with those boost-a-pumps, their great until they arent... I had one fry on my C5 and that split second it did was all it took to blow the ringlands to bits. Food for thought. I cant tell ya how much I wish I'd have just spent the money and did a fuel system rather than take that gamble. Its worth every penny.

Am I the only one afraid to have anyone pull the gas tanks to install a new pump? Besides the price, I'm worried something would break, particularly in the crossover tube, which parts aren't easily available for anymore. Maybe it's a non-issue... I'm pretty good at finding things to worry about.

It is a risk, yes. Mainly in the possibility of breaking the internal tubing that goes between the tanks. I replace the tank in my GS with a Z06 pump so that I could eliminate my BAP. It was not a easy task for sure and I had to use a lot more force than I was comfortable with for both the cross over tube and the internal tubes. But nothing broke other than some of the O-ring seals.
But if you have a lot of patience, it is doable without breaking anything.
