I currently drive a c5z running coilovers. The improvement over the z06 suspension was really night and day in both comfort and feel at the limit. I'm in the market for a C6 grand sport and was wondering about the magnetic ride option. Having rode in a c5 with magnetic ride I can confidently say the tour and sport buttons provide more of a placebo than actual change at least for the c5 and was far too soft overall. I've seen mixed reviews on the magnetic ride as well.
My question is does the magnetic ride also change the steering feel and throttle response among other things? (changing magnasteer settings for example) I am wondering if I should not filter out F55 cars. Previously I was avoiding them to avoid the work associated with F55 delete and having a useless button in the center console. Opening up my search to include F55 would help finding the mileage/color I'm seeking and if having the select switch to tighten up the steering/throttle that would still be a nice benefit.
I had it both in my 89 and now 11 GS. I love it but lot complain the cannot feel the difference. Maybe too good of a roads or very insensitive rear. On mine there is no mistaking. Like day and night. However I also did the Jim Meros new tour and new super sport, like it much better because the OEM set up was over the hill. Now I do not have to slow down for rail road crossings in either setting. Yes it also changes the steering effort.
