My tires only have “outside” labeled and no “direction” labeled. I recently had wheels off and did not pay attention to which one went where. Will the TPMS still communicate to their current positions or will they need to be re-synced to the computer.

Unlike some newer cars, the C6 does not auto-detect TPMS sensors. If you swapped sides, the tire pressure display will be backwards on the DIC until you do a manual re-learn.
Re-learn is very quick but you need an activation tool. Or you can just live with it being backwards.
A tool is required to trigger each TPMS during the relearn.
I stand corrected. I actually have the tool and used it on my '06. I did a search and some models you can do that as listed below.
Corvettes from 2005 to 2009: These models have a TPMS that must be reset with a TPMS Relearn Tool during relearning.
2010 Model Year Corvette: This year introduced a TPMS that lets you reset the system by changing the tire’s air pressure. No special tool is needed for these models, although you can still use one if you prefer.
2011 Model Year Corvette (built through December 2010): These Corvettes continued to use the air pressure-resettable sensors from the 2010 model.
Corvettes Built Starting January 2011: These cars have a different type of sensor that goes back to requiring a TPMS Relearn Tool for the reset. Air pressure changes won’t reset these sensors.
Especially if doesn’t have a Corvette logo that a lot of corvette vendors put a sticker on and suddenly it is $100.
I have used mine for years and I paid under $10.00
they sell them with air pressure gauges etc
I think I might have got mine on eBay but it took a little time to get to me Amazon prime and it’s on your porch by the weekend If I remember in the air you put the vehicle in Acc mode and press the lock and unlock button till horn beep and then you go left front tire press relearn tool button holding it till horn beep then release button clock wise then go to next tire holding the button with antenna of tool at the valve stem after horn beep next tire same procedure then ending on rear driver side press button and hold toll double beep BACK IN BUISNESS GOOD LUCK
believe me it’s so inexpensive I figured it would not work I have used mine multiple times and just pull out the 9 volt battery when I am not using it
I don't care that it says outside on your tires, it's supposed too and once you can the tire on the left hand or right side the tire has to keep that rotation!!!! YOU CANNOT ROTATE THE TIRES SIDE TO SIDE WITHOUT DISMOUNTING THE TIRE and remounting it on the other rim HENCE keeping the tire rotating in the same direction, by swapping them side to side you are forcing the cords to move in a way that is dangerous as you have already set the cords in the other direction, even my Nissan versa with tires marked with an "outside' tells you to keep them on the same side of the car when you rotate, notice the little arrow in front of the "outside" they are directional tires.

Tires can be symmetric (or not) and directional (or not). That allows four combinations: symmetric/directional, asymmetric/directional, symmetric/non-directional, and asymmetric/non-directional.
In practice, you almost never see asymmetric/directional because every size has to be manufactured in separate left and right side versions. If the sidewall was marked "outside" AND there was a rotation direction arrow it would be in this very unusual category.
As for non-directional tires taking a "set" and becoming invisibly directional... Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Tire Rack and General Motors disagree. See page 10-66 of the '13 Corvette owners manual.
