Steering rack
I have an 06 base car with 96000 miles. Bought it at 78000 and it would pop or clunk only at full lock to the left , low speed turns. It drives perfectly otherwise. Almost sounds like sway bar bushings. Almost never does it so I did not worry. Drove about 750 miles the last 2 days and its getting worse. I can not find any loose parts in the suspension. Could it be the rack ? If so, does it matter what C6 rack I get ? Seems they changed something in 09 or so.

A search says it may be a wheel bearing. I found this and it sounds like the guy had a similar problem.

Thanks Dano. Previous owner must have done sway bar bushings, they look great. Wheel bearing makes huge clunking noise with very little movement. $186 for Delco Gold.
