Im currently showing a C0550 code with flashing service ABS and BRAKE light illuminated. Not sure it’s related but was working on a stereo install and after I was done reconnecting the Traction Control button this seemed to pop up. Long shot but I ordered a new TC button but my fear is that the EBCM is toast. Any suggestions? Anyone use absfixer? Thx
Before ordering a new button you should check what “sets” that DTC and if there is any circuit testing that could be done…none for this one however you can check the EBCM’s power and grounds if you know how to do that…2 battery feeds, 1 ignition feed and a ground…using a factory level or similar aftermarket scan tool and not a “code reader” would help to identify if you can communicate with the EBCM.
The tc switch simply makes/breaks the connection with two wires. Super basic. Probably not your problem but you can test it really easily with a multimeter (test for continuity - closed when pushed open when not).
