Default 2009 C6 Z06 Electrical issue

Starting this thread to document the saga of resolving the random service traction controller error.

Symptoms Service ABS light Comes on after starting the car, sometimes instantly sometimes after a few minutes. Good battery and charging system voltage.

I have ordered a VXDIAG VCX Nano GDS2 and Tech2Win Diagnostic Tool from amazon to hopefully get more details of the errors than my BlueDriver obd2 or hptuners MPVi3 scanner can give me about the ECBM/BCM

C0899 Device 1 Voltage Low EBCM

Battery has 12.5 Volts key off, and the Charging system is putting out 14.5 when running. Both battery and Alternator have been replaced.

I have cleaned the two passenger side grounds in the engine compartment One on the B pillar the other in the foot well under the A pillar.

Looks like a few low voltage issues so if your battery is reading 12.5 volts that is 80% charge and if you have an AGM battery and 70% if you have a FLA battery…below is description for your C0899 so if the voltage to the EBCM is less than 9 volts for 1/10th of a second so that’s pretty quick…since you are seeing this condition during starting I’d check how low your battery voltage drops during starting…if it drops below 9 volts then you have to see what’s causing that…maybe corrosion on the battery cables at the stater solenoid and the engine block ground…you may want to remove the EBCM connector and check the terminals especially the 1 ignition feed and the 2 battery feeds for corrosion…if you are familiar with voltage drop testing I’d check the drop from each of the fuses to the EBCM…one lead on the fuse and other lead to each of those 3 terminals (A,B,C) at the EBCM…max drop is 0.5 volts but should be less than that usually 0.2 to 0.3 volts….if you clean any grounds you clean the ones that may be related to your issue…just cleaning any ground is just a waste of time.

I cleaned those ground because they where related to the BCM which had a low voltage. Ill check the ECBM it does not look like a fun job to even get at it

edit:

In reference to these code is there a way to narrow it down to a specific module? The info you posted on the OEM DTC is much more detailed that any I have found where did you get it?

I was getting constant "service charging system" warnings all the time, it would clear and then pop up again at idle usually, my tuner saw this and added more time before the fault was set, WA_LA no more alarms, have a tuner set the fault times to 150 or 200 milliseconds.

This is most certainly an option. The issue is maddeningly intermittent and never happens when im close to my house.

Update.

I took the pass seat out and rolled up the carpet. With he battery off I disconnected to connectors to the BCM and EBCM and didn't fin any corrosion but I sprayed them with WD-40 Specialist electrical contact cleaner anyways.

There is also an after market amp where the factory one is located that was not secured and was just sitting in place. I created a mount of sorts using plywood and 3m VHB tape positioning it so it was no longer resting the the cables. I also used VHB to affixed the box for the mild to wild switch in place is it was just sitting in their loose as well. I re routed and secured all the speakers wires as well. The issue has not returned since doing all of this but as ive said it was extremely intermittent.

I also purchased a Tech2 and candi Emulator so I can use tech2win to get more detailed diagnostics codes than from my blue tooth obdII scanner if it doesn come back.
