Default Strange paint issue on 2006 hatch question

I have a 2006 Montery Red coupe I just got from the original owner
I love the car but there is something strange with the paint on the rear hatch
If you look straight down into the paint, everything looks fine.
However, I you look at it from an angle there the paint looks unsmooth (is this a word) in places

It was hard to take a picture but I will start with this and then zoom in to the reflection of the ceiling light

I asked the owner if it had ever been repainted and he said no, but the top had been replaced under warranty. It looks duller than the rest of the car but not like this

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks
Glenn

Where any aftermarket coatings applied to the car, since looks like either them, or the clear coat has been eroded/chipped away.

From the photos, can not see how much of the clear coat is left, and if such can be polished out, before you go too deep and get past clear coat into actual color coat under it.

Also, is his just a panel of the car like rear hatch, or is like this through out all the panels instead.

Hence roof replace comes to dealer non painted, they paint and final coat it in the body shop, not on the car, so its final clear coat should have not ended up with over spray to the other sections. I say should, since if they did install it on car and them final coated it on car, may just be over spray of clean coat on top of factory clear coat of at panel, and it can be buff polished away to solve that.

If no paint work has been done my first thought would be some sort of outgassing. The rear trunk on my C5 looked almost the same way so I had to get it repainted. When they prepped it the painter seemed to think the primer coat or whatever the used was the problem.Been several years so I don't really remember exactly what he called it.

Thanks for the replies

To answer the question, this is only on the deck lid. No other body panels
It appears to be only on the clear coat
the base or color coat looks fine.
If you look straight down, it also looks fine
it is only at an angle under certain lighting you can see this
In addition it is not uniform over the entire deck lid.

So weird

Maybe Detailed touch up of clear coat in that areas, that did not bond with factory top coat correctly.

Hence could of been problem at a none GM shop that the old owner did not know about that was "fiixed", or one that he is not letting on about instead.
Hence most vet owners will at least hand wipe the car down after its washed, and find it hard that the old owner did not notice such at some point.

Took a close look tonight and hit it with pure polish
So strange
It does not look like it is coming up through the color
and it looks like it is sitting on top of the clear,
but yet appears to have clear on top of it

I am going to take it to my paint shop and put some other eyes on it
I will report back
