Hello. I’m wondering about the longevity of the plastic coolant reservoir expansion tank on a 2007 C6 with 120000 miles. would it be wise to replace it ? I’m always wary of plastics longevity in heat for 16 years.
I have a 2011 GS and I replaced mine recently. 45K on the clock. Mine was a bit yellowed and had some staining on the inside. Made it a bit difficult to see the coolant level.
Thanks for the response. Where would you buy one to ensure it’s not a Chinese knockoff and also speaking of Chinese knockoffs where would you but the block coolant drain plug on the right side just above the starter?

Back to the block drain plugs, mine had a steel plug on the left side . The torque is 50 nm.
All new ones have brass plug.
Same torque?
I wonder why the change.
My guess is why would you want to use a harder metal (steel) when threading into the block if you're not looking for clamping force. Block plugs need to seal liquid. Brass being soft is good for this use case.
