mag ride replacements from china

Just wondering if anyone here has tried these yet?

Previously, it had what seemed like zero damping in rear (albeit no visible leaks, so I was a bit skeptical).
His friend has a tech 2 clone, and apparently it showed normal functionality in front, but nothing in rear, from either side. I found that very strange,
Anyway, went ahead and removed the OE's (tough, because they were extremely hard to compress and cable-tie, despite having no resistance when car was in motion).
Got them out and noticed the Chinese replacements were about 1" shorter overall, had the rubber bushes installed on top with the retaining cups inverted, and that the top hats were not left/right specific like the OEs were (thereby the angle would be off).
So, transferred the OE top hats and installed the bushing retainers in the correct orientation.
Installation was easy, as these were much easier to compress, being on the bench but even so, probably only 1/2 the effort comparatively, plus, of course, they were shorter. But fully extended at full suspension droop...so seemed physically ok.
One of the connector wires had the insulation skimmed a little, so dropped some epoxy on the exposed copper to seal it (suspect one of the 4 previous owners may have been in there and tampered, as one connector came off too easily).
Anyway, road test: Ok...finally proper shock damping from rear, and car actually reacted perceptibly to change in switch position. So...they seem to work!
Bad news, the car doesn't seem to know they're connected and shows warning in DIC and speed limited to 128kph (80mph).
So...at this point, my mechanical assistance with the swap is done and it's up to the owner to hopefully figure out what is going on with it.
I'll post back with any further developments.

It's very disappointing that GM has discontinued so many parts for our cars, incl. the mag-ride shocks. That said, it's also disgusting how much they COST (if you could get them). Mine were all SHOT. The RR basically compressed and seized in position, and the other 3 I could play like an accordion, they had little-to-no resistance whatsoever.
I had 6th-Gear garage @ CTMP just program out the 80MPH speed limiter in the computer to get around that problem. Tried having the local GM dealership turn off "Real-time Damping" via the Tech-II, but they didn't have any luck. Also, never understood why the sims weren't doing what they were supposed to either. Damn electronic "ghosts"!!
