hello, this is my first post on here so please dis regard anything i do wrong lol
how difficult it is to remove the torque tube on these things? the cylinder around my drive shaft cut yes cut.....clean in half but didn't bend or mess with my drive shaft idk how or wat but it broke right where the welding was done in the front. so now im stuck with the decision to take it to a mechanic and have them do it and drop $2000 or do it myself. I'm mechanically inclined but I'm worried about ******* up other **** while doing it as it's my daily right now. ANY help or advise would be much appreciated.

The transmission and rear suspension are attached to a subframe or "cradle". That entire assembly has to be dropped so the torque tube can be tilted down and pulled out. It can be done with jacks and stands, but it's much easier with a lift.
You should watch YouTube videos on the subject. How much time do you want to dedicate to this? How much do you like working on your car? Do you have lots of tools? Impact gun? Wrenches?
Based on how you typed, it sounds like you might be better off taking it to a shop. It’s hard on jack stands. You can do it but it’s something I am sending out to a shop. When you are in there, replace your clutch and also the rear main seal. If your an automatic, at least replace the rear main seal.
Im mechanically inclined as well. I do all of my own work. However I do not have a 2 post lift so it’s has to go to a shop. No other way around it because I do not want to drop the rear cradle in the garage. You just have to decide is $2000 worth you saving your time and knuckles.

There's a lot that needs to be disconnected but it's a pretty straightforward job, even on jackstands which is how I've always done it.
I wrote a How To guide on how to replace the torque converter which will get you far enough along except for the torque tube itself.

im removing my torque tube pretty soon on my 2010 auto c6 (base) any advice when taking this thing out and what should i replace while im there. already doing the fuel pump cause of that famous hair line crack on the connector that they get any seals i should replace??
You might check on the fuel smell issue some cars have with fuel tank sender being cracked. And if you look into a torque converter if you auto and might include MODS later
6ton jackstands are fine for height and work well, it's very easy to drop rear cradle (or front for that matter) remove upper A arm bolts, disconnect brake line (s?) note that that will run all over the floor until the master cylinder is empty, I was unable to stop it, but it was pretty easy to bleed out.
Other stuff I would look at or replace while in there:
Rear main plate with seal, barbell thingy, and I'm not sure on anything else back there,
if you have an automatic you could replace the torque converter with a little higher stall

When dropping the rear cradle you don't need to disconnect the brake lines as the whole thing can be swung out of the way while everything stays connected.
ya mine is cracked rn it was a pain cuz i had no reason to fix it until i got MOD parts so i left it but now that my torque tube is fucked im pretty much gonna do that too anyway because most of the fuel tank job is done by dropping the cradle lmao
