Oil change advice - lsx
I need to change the oil in the c6 2007 z06. This will be my first oil change in the car. I found an awesome YT video on two drain plugs 8qts of oil maybe?
Here is the tough part about a simple oil change.. I did not do the work on the car. I bought the car like it is.. All I have is a folder full of receipts and its kinda difficult going through them.
The car has a LSX engine in it. The last receipt I kinda see is at 31,847 miles, the car had an oil change with mobil 1 - 10w30 at a qt. of 9 qts. Does 9 quarts sound right for the lsx engine? This was from Vetttech in TX if that helps any. Maybe it was 8 in the car and 1 spare? I really don't know.
EDIT: A receipt also lists the oil filter as PH46. Ive never been a big fram filter fan. Can anyone recommend me a different filter? (I need to check the car and confirm it is a ph46)
It sucks that I don't know the car up and down, but I guess that's part of buying something that's already done. If anyone has any advice, I'm all ears. I do understand this is just a simple oil change, but like everything I want to do it correctly.
