In the past year I purchased the "dreaded 2005" corvette convertible. I was unaware of the issues with that model. I have gotten several items taken care of but am once again unable to start the care due to electrical issues.
Start button does not light up, when pressed it doesn't do anything.
Battery is fully charged.
Electronic door locks to open door do not work
After market radio installed by previous owner does not shut off and may be part of the problem.
Clicked behind the seats appears to be a relay but not sure
You may want to start with the ignition switch/button. Just a guess but when I bought my 09 I had similar issues, no green light and especially the radio doing weird things. The switch powers a bunch of accessories. I replaced it, it was only $55, and those issues went away and haven't returned.

I had a 'dreaded 2005 Corvette convertible for 3 years and 40k miles. No problems, ever.
If you have the stock radio, etc, I suggest putting everything back to stock and see where you are. It certainly could be in the ECM but eliminate funky wiring (or at least verify the wiring) first.
I have the “dreaded” 05, and it died on me due to me leaving the glovebox open for a couple days (which has a light in it). I’ve since replaced the battery and remember to shut the glove box (and put in R) before shutting her down. Shes been good to me since. I’d suggest going back to the factory radio. Best of luck.
I too have the "dreaded '05" which I love. Never any electrical issues. You don't say if the battery is loosing charge or not. As suggested check fob batteries. I would absolutely not rush to replace the radio as I highly suspect it's NOT your problem. If it doesn't shut off when you turn off the car off then it's not wired correctly but that should be an easy fix, just need to be sure it's wired to a switched source not a hot all the time source. How old is your battery?? Do you keep it on a tender??

Thank you for your suggestion.
Is the part you replaced the one on the dashboard or the one on the started motor?
I ordered, and will have tomorrow, the one on the dashboard. I hope to be able to install that soon. Did you replace it yourself, and if so, was it very complicated.

I did check the fob battery and it is good. Thank you for your suggestion

My son and I have begun the process of looking into the wiring, not completed as yet. There are a couple of after market items, the radio being one, and a lighted windscreen that changes colors. It could be the relay for one or both of those. This is definitely a work in process.
Yes, it was losing charge and we discovered that the light in the glove box was not turning off. We took care of that but now it is starting to have issues again.

Forgot to say, the battery is new and no I wasn't keeping it on a tender after we seemed to have it fixed.

It was the dash one. The push button. It was not that hard, about an little less than an hr. I watched a short youtube video on which interior panels to remove.
Last week I noted an electrical problem and received some good advice.
I did replace the starter in my 2005 Corvette convertible, The battery in the keyfob was also replaced and the battery for the vehicle is new and has a full charge.
I now can start the car again and the strange clicking sound behind the seats has been silenced.
The top was down on the car and since I could not get pretty much anything electrically operated to work could not check on the top. When I tried the last couple of days with seemingly everything else in good shape, I could not get the top to even move. The button on the dash in the lower left to put the top down or up does not do a thing.
I have had a lot of work done on my 2005 Corvette and many things were repaired or replaced.
I STILL have an electrical issue though. Car has been running fine. Drove to the gym this morning and as I pulled in the parking lot it died...AGAIN! Upon further investigation, one of the cables had melted, this happened before with a bad battery. New battery was installed and new cables as well. so what is causing this now?
Would appreciate anyone else providing some information. About at the end of my rope with this car. Can't even sell it because I don't want to pass on this mysterious mess.

There is a 'bulkhead in the trunk so stuff doesn't get into the top mechanism. If it is not latched in place the top will not operate.

Which cable, + or - ? Have you checked the starter solenoid for broken/crusty connections? Try to find a wiring diagram and check that all the grounds are clean and tight.
If you could post a pic of what melted that would help . Also after haveing the battery disconected the windows must be reindexted for the top to work.
