Default New Owner--help with what is this

Good afternoon!
On ownership week #6 of my 2011 Grand Sport Convertible and the alternator is on the way out so ordered a new 250 amp from BlownBlueZ06, and the cable to go straight from alternator to fuse box. Thank you all for the comments about him and his products over the years, he was amazing on the phone to a new C6 owner.
It was not a good week, the day before, some butthead hit the drivers side mirror, put their white paint on it, and drove off of course, and the car was in the only spot of the restaurant parking lot not covered by cameras. Sigh.

Now that the car is a door stop in the garage instead of being driven every day without rain (and due to the hurricanes, not many of those the past 2 weeks!), I am looking more closely at the car. I am the 4th or 5th owner and I know there are some mods: short shifter, CAI (yes, I know, probably not worth it), M2W system which is a lot of fun, some interior add ons, a now out of date radar detector, and a different stereo unit. As this is my first C6, I am not as familiar with what might be done under the hood so here are some questions.

The car was serviced by the Chevy dealer before I bought it and yes, I should have checked it more closely, but the oil on the dipstick looks overfilled by a good 1/4-3/8" up the stick. How much of a problem will that be? I am guessing the only solution is to get it on a lift and crack open the drain plug?

I think this is an oil catch can but there are no identifying marks at all. Is that what I am looking at? If so, it's not going to be fun to drain it.

Looks like a catch can?

Absolutely no markings on it.

Then, I think these vertical fins are supposed to be some sort of heat block as part of the CAI to supposedly help isolate engine compartment heat?

The two vertical fins by the red arrows.

I looked up pics of a C6 engine compartment and all pics that I found have this box where the catch can is. Is that part of the original air intake or was something else removed?

The box with the red question mark is missing on my car.

Then, just for fun, does anyone see anything odd, missing, or extra in these pics of the front of the engine or in the fuse box? I see Delco plug wires, no headers, stock down pipes, no dual cooling fan set up, engine temp runs in the 180-200 range.

Front of the engine.

Fuse Box

The car feels mostly stock. It seems to pull about as hard as my 392 Daytona which has 50ish more horsepower but also about 1000 more pounds.
I would like to find out if the ECM has been flashed, Bret said to get a tuner and downloading the current and sending if off. Is there anything else that is common that I can easily identify or should look for?

Thank you for your help all! I hope to get as familiar with this car as I was my 1995 that I had for many years until the kids came along, and then I can answer and not just ask.

One more pic, I pulled the passenger side engine cover, it all looks stock but again, not the expert.

Looks like your current intake is an aftermarket intake and the original was removed. The original with that large side box (Hemholtz chamber) is very good to begin with. Those walls on either side of the intake are not stock and yes look to be to try to block engine heat from the intake.

That cylinder on the passenger side does look like a catch can.

Everything else looks stock.

Thanks! I'm not sure what happened to my signature block, it disappeared and had that info in it, I will figure out why it is not posting at home. The car has the MGW short shifter and skip shift removed which is, as we all know, a massive improvement over stock.

Yes to all what you think they are, and this,

Is the factory air intake resonator, to keep the intake quiet.

My signature block rarely shows up as well, even though I have the option box checked in my control panel.

A slight overfill on the dipstick is not an issue. People often add a little extra oil when hitting high rpm's or in performance driving events. The fuse box looks normal.

Probably just me but that plug wire on the first coil looks like it's about to come loose

That is exactly what I saw. Should check all of the plug wires to ensure a good secure connection with the coil on both sides. These cars have a problem with dropping the wires off of the coil pack.

It happened to me.
