Oil check
Sorry a basic question. I am not a new sports car owner. All the gauges of my C6 indicates oil is ok but I usually check oil. What is the usual for a C6 6.2ltr. You follow the oil gauge or you manually check the the level regularly.?

The gauge shows pressure not level. If pressure does not change on the gauge I typically rely on that. I check the level between changes, 3000 miles or 1 year for me, to make sure everything is ok

I can see my wording wasn't very clear. Yes, I am aware the gauge shows pressure. I am also aware that if the oil is low, there should be a message in the DIC but thank you for pointing it out. It has been my experience that some high-performance engines tend to need oil regularly, Perhaps it would have been better if I asked owners of the 6.2 engine what their experience has been. I am pleased that you have not had that experience. That is good to know. Thank you.

Many times, by the time your pressure drops, or your oil idiot light comes on, you are way low on oil. Sometimes, almost empty.
Rely on the dipstick.
After you've owned the car and know if it uses oil or not, you can set your schedule to check the oil level--1k-5k.
