Default ACDelco 41-985

Fairly new to me "09 Vert, stock ls3, with 55K miles.
The car runs fine, but while fiddling around, I thought I would pull a plug.
ACDelco 41-985. Gap was .087. Searching the forums, it looks like the little tip is gone, hence the .087 gap. Also, it looks like the 985 is for a ls2 or ?????
Also, searching the forums I see a few different #'s for oem plugs. 41-104, 41-110,41-162, etc.
Rock auto lists 41-162 pre gapped at .040 as stock.
So, is the 41-162 the correct oem iridium?

41-985 should be the original plug number. It has been superceded by 41-110 and then the 41-162.The 41-104 is a colder plug used in the LS7 and LS9.

Interesting to hear that the 41-985 were the OEM's. My research showed them to be multi model use, even 5.7 trucks.
Since the 1 I removed was missing the tip and had a .087 gap, I'm going to buy new ones. Rock Auto and AZ both list 41-162 as correct, so I ordered these from RA.
It really surprises me that 1, or more, damaged plugs wouldn't cause a misfire code. And, if not, will the new plugs make it run better?

You will gain any power you have lost from the bad plugs but it should be alot smoother.

41-985 was the original plug and it had a little puck of platinum on the center electrode, that would fall off, hence the mile wide gap.
41-162 is an iridium Delco plug
41-962 is the replacement platinum for the 41-985.
Either 162 or 962 will be fine....I would use the 41-162 if it was mine.

For something as simple as a spark plug, GM sure makes is difficult.
