Hey y’all, I have a 09 C6 Z51 and I’m having a tick mainly at idle but also under light acceleration. Oil pressure seems normal and gas mileage is the same as well as no engine light. Has anyone else had this issue?

Sounds like it's in the valvetrain, it ticks at half of idle speed. You might be able to use a stethoscope to narrow it down to a particular cylinder. You can pull the valve cover pretty easily to look for problems, like checking for a loose rocker, but if it's a lifter issue, the head has to come off to address it.
Do you have headers or stock manifolds?
could be an exhaust leak but it sounds just like mine used to which was a valvetrain tick of some sort. Had my lifters swapped and they all looked fine. Could be a worn out rocker trunnion.

Their stock headers. It does sound louder from the underside of the car than it does from the top, that could also be because it’s resonating throughout the engine bay. But I’m also probably gonna take the valve covers off and check all the top end stuff. (I really don’t wanna take the heads off, but if it comes to that….😢

I’ll try that tomorrow, I have some long extensions I can use to try to figure out where the sound is coming from.
