Default Which heads for 416ci ?

Looking for head advise . I have a katech 416 ci with there stage 2 cam, katech ls2 heads, fast ls2 102 intake and kooks LT. Made 478 rwhp and 480 rwtq. The top end is limited because of heads and probably cam but I don't want to lose any bottom end or driveabilty. Katech said there ls3 heads , performance design intake and FIC 60lb injectors and bigger cam would gain me 80hp. I would like to source the parts myself and have the work done locally this time to save some and i think there are better heads out there then ported OEM ls3.

2 choices/options
1. MMS 235 Cathedral Heads and cam specced by Tony Mamo keeps your Fast Intake and provides better low end/drive ability & + ~50-70 hp.
2. MMS LS3 (AFR version) Heads, New FAST (Mid/Long Runners) & Tony specced Cam
(More top-end, give up some low-end/ tip in below ~ 3500 rpm & + ~ 70-90 hp.
Depends on Goals & Budget.
My .02

Here are two 416 builds I did awhile back....both with my 235 cathedral heads.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...e=pocket_saves

If I were building one now I would look into my MMS 243 heads on that displacement engine.....slightly larger port with ALOT more flow. With a smallish cam it will still have plenty of low end and make a bunch more power over your current combo

A big tell on an engine combination with poor heads or an airflow issue in general is when you make similar HP versus torque.....even making 20 more HP is really soft....the engine just isn't carrying torque which is why the power drops off so quickly.

Gimme a ring or shoot me an email and we can discuss in more detail

Here is some info on my new 243 heads.....these things are killer!!

Cheers,
Tony
