Good morning all, I’m new to the forum and new Corvettes in general. I just purchased a 2009 LS3 recently and It’s a fantastic car so far. We just took it on her first road trip this past weekend and I had a couple issues pop up and I’m not sure if anybody else has experienced these. As I said it’s a 2009 with a targa top. Periodically I would get loud humming or vibration noise which sounds like it’s coming from the targa top. I have yet to have this top off the car and I’m not sure if it’s truly coming from the top but it certainly sounds like it’s coming from between the top and the top of windshield. Anyway it’s intermittent and seems to only happen at speeds above 50mph, but when it does start to hum/vibrate, it does becomes very loud (thank God I still have plenty of volume left on the radio to drowned it out). Anyway I was just wondering if anybody else has experience this and what the possible remedy might. Also, this might no be the right thread to post this issue but occasionally I’m unable to shift from park to drive. This is also an intermittent problem but it happened several times on our trip. I tried to turn the radio up to resolve this issue but it didn’t help. So if anybody knows what could be causing this issue and what solution to this problem might be I would appreciate any advice. Thanks again for your help.
While I havn't experienced exactly what you describe, I would highly suggest removing the top and wiping the seals down with mild detergent and then wiping with silicone stuff. That cured my squeeks.
Unlatch and lift front up, to replace put the rear back into the sockets first, and just be sure and latch those fronts immediately always.
There are some adjustments on the top if that doesn't solve your issues.
