i removed my torque tube friday and i also have the famous crack on my fuel pump that some c6's get so i decided i might as well fix that while i have the whole rear end out well i removed the tank crossover pipe and the yellow o ring that is in that cross pipe snapped while i was pulling it out how important is that seal?? can i get away with not putting it in there?? and just have the green o ring/ black plastic piece then put the other black plastic piece in?? the reason i say this is because ofc i broke a seal that NOBODY HAS and is a dealership item im very limited on ttime and cant wait till next week for the seal.

Do you think that as cheap as GM is, that they would put in a part that wasn't needed?
How pissed off would you be if you put it back together and it leaked and needed to be taken apart again?
Bite the bullet and wait for the correct part.
If you can measure the O-ring ID, OD, material thickness you may be able to find a replacement on McMaster Carr online. I'd go with Viton material. Their catalog typically offers info to help determine what materials work best for particular applications. I use Viton all the time at work for chemical, fuel & lubricant systems.

Same thing happened to me when I replaced my fuel pump. The yellow o-ring broke apart. Don’t panic. It is just a simple o-ring easily replaced.
Just go to a good local hardware store or buy a kit online of Viton o-rings and match up the size as close as you can.
Use some silicone grease on the o-rings and seals when you go to re-assemble as this will make it much easier for them to go back together.

ya well thats wat i decided to do was bite the bullet so currently waiting for the GM part.... i was thinking about it that night and was like "yk how pissed i would be filling it up and it started leaking?" so i just ordered it should be here Wednesday.
Rock Auto likely has them. I sent some o-rings packs back as I ordered them before starting the fuel pump replacement so I would have them just in case. About $60 for the O-rings. I am sure you can get good replacement Viton O-rings at a good hydraulic shop. How can an O-ring "snap"? They must all be very brittle so replacement of all the O-rings may be necessary. Lube all O-rings before trying o put everything back together.
